HALF DAY TOUR:

Cliffs of Moher

Lahinch Beach Promenade

Lahinch is a small town overlooking Liscannor Bay, surrounded by ancient earth forts and boasting 2km of golden sandy beach.

Cliffs of Moher

Just a short 15 minute drive from Lahinch. The cliffs loom 200m above the Atlantic Ocean and offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside. If the weather is clear, you can see the Aran Islands lying across Galway Bay. We can also organise a boat trip so you can take in the breath-taking beauty of the cliffs from the sea.

Doonagore Castle

Just a short drive up the coast from the cliffs and you arrive at Doonagore Castle, perched high on a hill overlooking Doolin Point. The privately owned picturesque castle has a dark history, famed for being the scene of the hanging of 170 sailors from the Spanish Armada.

Lunch in Doolin

A short hop back up the coast for some lunch in the colourful coastal town of Doolin, home of traditional Irish music. Wander through the narrow streets, packed with restaurants, pubs and cafes. Choose from one of the many eateries in the town, sample the fine cuisine and the unique atmosphere while listening to local musicians who gather together to play traditional Irish music.

Cliffs of Moher

A full day tour includes all of the half day tour stops, plus so much more:
Travel back through the rocky lunar landscape of the Burren, where you can stop off at one of the many sites of interest, such as:
  • Doolin Cave - one of Europe's most impressive show caves - descend the 125 steps to the cave which lies 200ft underground to get a glimpse of a world over 350 million years old. See the amazing 7.5m Great Stalactite - the largest in Europe.
  • Aillwee Cave - another impressive cave system where you will be guided over chasms and under weird formations, not forgetting the impressive and eerie underground waterfall. Aillwee Cave is also home to the famous Brown Bear remains.
  • The Burren Smokehouse - a family run smokehouse which uses traditional smoking techniques to give their sustainably sourced Atlantic caught fish that unmistakable smokey flavour.

Poulnabrone Dolmen

An ancient Neolithic tomb which is a must see. Perched on one of the highest points in the Burren, this large limestone portal tomb offers a glimpse of Neolithic Ireland.

Caherconnell Stone Fort

An atmospheric and well preserved ring fort dating back to the 10th Century where you see how a Medieval Irish farming family lived, and take in a traditional sheep dog demonstration.
